We like to think our studio is pretty great —from the 100 acres of stunning countryside, our snazzy office, the free food, the dogs of Rare, and not forgetting the 150+ developers who are jolly good at making unforgettable experiences for players worldwide. While we could go on and on about all the fantastic things that make Rare a great place to work, today we’re excited to let some official recognition do the talking…
We’re thrilled to announce that Rare has been awarded a spot on GamesIndustry.biz’s Best Places to Work Awards 2024!
These awards, held annually, evaluate studios across a wide range of categories, including Diversity, Health & Wellbeing, Learning & Development, Education, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental impact. Most importantly, the rankings are based on feedback directly from employees (80%), making this recognition even more meaningful to us.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and feedback from our team, we’ve landed a place in the large company category, joining other standout studios in the UK games industry. You can check out the full list of winners here.
But that’s not all—we’re incredibly proud to announce that Rare has also won two special awards this year: the Diversity Award and the Environmental Impact Award!
The Diversity Award recognises our ongoing efforts to foster inclusion and build a workplace where everyone’s journey matters, as well as how we are helping make an impact on the wider games industry too. Read more about that here.
In addition to our commitment to diversity, we’re equally chuffed to be recognised for our work towards a more sustainable future with the Environmental Impact Award. This award highlights our dedication to reducing our environmental footprint and being responsible stewards of the beautiful surroundings we’re fortunate to call home. You can see more about our very own Barn X, which tells the story of our commitment to being green!
As if the good news didn’t stop there, Rare was also nominated for the Learning & Development Award – a new category for the event.
We couldn’t have achieved this without the terrific people who make Rare what it is, so a big cheer all round - Here’s to an exciting future ahead, and a massive thank you to the team for making Rare one of the Best Places to Work!
