22/7/09: Music to Beat Piñatas By

You wait for ages and then two arrive at the same time: hot on the paws of the Nuts & Bolts CD comes an official soundtrack release for Viva Piñata, combining tunes from the original and Trouble in Paradise.

When the news broke last week we featured a preview pic on our state-of-the-art 21st century Twitter feed, but now Sumthing have issued a full press release for you to lap up. Once you're filled with a frothing demand, you can preorder the physical CD from Amazon (UK or US) or get the tracklisting and preview clips to tide you over until the whole beast becomes downloadable from Sumthing Digital.

"But there's already free VP music on this site!" you may shriek. Some, yes, but the official soundtrack recordings are of a higher quality and feature a much wider selection of tracks, including plenty of VP:TIP stuff. Release date (apart from the slightly later UK CD, it seems) is July 28th, so on that date don't be surprised if you feel a sudden, irresistible moral obligation to purchase it. Cheers like.
24/6/09: The Sound of Nuts & Bolts

You may have thought the moment had passed, but no! Now you can stop moaning at me for using 'possible CD release' as an excuse for not putting more Nuts & Bolts MP3s up, because there is a CD release.

All set for launch on June 30th, this landmark in the history of ursine ambience comes courtesy of our pals at Sumthing Else, and you can pre-order it from Amazon US or Amazon UK right now (where you can also see the full cover art).

Rare Head of Music Robin says: "So here it is, some of us thought it would never happen, one of us was convinced it wouldn't (silly monkey). But after a year's hard slog of writing, refining, orchestrating, conducting, widdling, recording, mixing and mastering, followed by another mastering session in January which produced a reference burn CD (and even then we weren't sure it would see the light of day), only yesterday it turned up... thus!"

Pictures show off original reference burn CD and proud composers Dave Clynick and Robin Beanland (the camera batteries ran out before we could fully assemble the Grant Kirkhope cardboard replica) in the studio, giving it the old hard sell with the finished product.
