6/1/10: Sultry Birds On Demand

And bears. And a pirate hippo. And weasel policemen. Yes, what we're getting at is that Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is now available to download from the official Xbox 360 Games On Demand service.

It comes in at the standard price of £/$19.99, which you may consider to be more competitive than the same charge for our older titles considering N&B was only released to retail a little over a year ago. This completes the Rare Xbox 360 collection available to download from the service, with Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo and the two Viva Piñatas (and Krome's Party Animals) all having been added to the line-up in the latter half of 2009.

For undisclosed but probably boring reasons Nuts & Bolts hasn't joined Games On Demand in Japan, so unless that's where you happen to be, you could investigate the possibility of throwing money at a pristine digital version of the game by following this link to xbox.com.
5/1/10: December in the Twitter Grotto

Did you start following Rare on Twitter after the November round-up? No? You asked for it, here's one for December.

Most keenly anticipated updates of the month were probably the latest PD XBLA screenshot alerts, once more spread out over a few days for maximum... something. The arrival of Xbox 360 Avatar pets (some of which Rare created) also stirred interest and a few Piñata favouritism arguments, followed in the Wild World of News by the Rare Holiday Theme dropping onto Xbox Live Marketplace and confirmation of Banjo and Kazooie joining the cast of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for a few cheeky laps – on the 360 at least. Turned out to be It's Mr. Pants' fifth anniversary too (just in time for the end-of-year Pantsboard) but it's not as if anyone would have forgotten.

Hawt picture action this month was brought on by outbreaks of fog and snow (and ice), with a parting snap of our big ol' Xmas tree before we signed off for the holidays. Awards and list appearances included a runner-up nod for Pocket Paradise at the Children's BAFTAs, a spot for Tooie in Destructoid's Top 50 Videogames of the Decade and Nuts & Bolts crashing Xbox World 360's 100 Best Xbox 360 Games. We also reached 5000 followers. Then 5500 followers. Get in.
