24/6/09: The Sound of Nuts & Bolts
You may have thought the moment had passed, but no! Now you can stop moaning at me for using 'possible CD release' as an excuse for not putting more Nuts & Bolts MP3s up, because there is a CD release. |
|
All set for launch on June 30th, this landmark in the history of ursine ambience comes – like the PDZ and Kameo CDs before it – courtesy of our pals at Sumthing Else. It's the official Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts soundtrack CD, and you can pre-order it from Amazon US or Amazon UK right now (where you can also see the full cover art).
Rare Head of Music Robin says: "So here it is, some of us thought it would never happen, one of us was convinced it wouldn't (silly monkey). But after a year's hard slog of writing, refining, orchestrating, conducting, widdling, recording, mixing and mastering, followed by another mastering session in January which produced a reference burn CD (and even then we weren't sure it would see the light of day), only yesterday it turned up... thus!"

Pictures show off original reference burn CD and proud composers Dave Clynick and Robin Beanland (the camera batteries ran out before we could fully assemble the Grant Kirkhope cardboard replica) in the studio, giving it the old hard sell with the finished product.
I think it's fair to say that nobody has an overabundance of vehicular bear music in their library right now, so this deserves a shot. It's a labour of love, and all purchasers are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a dramatic theme tune for their pet as composed by Robin. Not really, no, but it's giving me ideas. |
